A woman from Berlin, Germany, Michele Köbke, who was in a nine-year romantic relationship with a Boeing 737-800, has revealed they've broken up but remain friends. Michele, 36, affectionately called the plane "Darling" and described it as "attractive and elegant."

Diagnosed as an objectophile, Michele said her relationship with the plane was like anyone else's, “we have relaxing evenings together and when we go to bed, we cuddle and fall asleep together,” she explained. While the breakup was amicable, she still fondly recalls the connection and the excitement she felt, particularly when touching its winglets. “When I touch his wings, I immediately get sweaty palms and get excited,” she revealed.

Experts say objectophilia affects a small number of people and isn’t considered a problem unless it causes distress. Michele previously spoke of the difficulties of being in a relationship with the plane: “A relationship with a plane is not easy and at times difficult. 'I can only get close to him when I fly with him or when I can get to him in the hangar.”
