Cillian Murphy returns to the screen in “Steve,” Netflix’s upcoming movie based on Max Porter’s novel “Shy,” about troubled youths in a 1990s British reform school.
The film shifts the book’s focus toward Murphy’s headteacher, while Jay Lycurgo playing the title character Shy.
Co-starring Tracey Ullmann, Simbi Ajikawo, and Emily Watson, “Steve” will premiere at TIFF, hit theaters on September 19th, and come to streaming on Netflix on October 3rd.
In the trailer, a bearded, weary, Murphy is doing his best to help the troubled youths he’s in charge of.
But it can take a toll, as he admits when asked to describe himself in three words that he is “very, very, tired.”
