Chance The Rapper has finally dropped his brand-new album after keeping fans waiting for years.
On Friday, August 15, Chano released his sophomore studio album Star Line. His latest independent project comes with 17 songs, including previously released singles "The Highs & The Lows" with Joey Bada$$ and "Tree" featuring Lil Wayne & Smino. The Chicago MC also recruited Young Thug, Vic Mensa, BJ The Chicago Kid, Jay Electronica, LION BABE, Do or Die, BabyChiefDoIt, TiaCorine, Jazmine Sullivan and Jamila Woods to contribute to the album.
"It covers a lot of different areas of my life," Chance told CBS Mornings about the album.
"I've covered a lot of ground in the last six years," he continued. "I've spent a considerable amount of time in Ghana, West Africa, in Jamaica, and a lot of different communities around the states. Collaborated with a lot of different artists and a bunch of changes in my personal life too, and all of that is reflected through the music. It's always a good thing to release and share with the world."
Chance The Rapper personally previewed some of the songs on his new album with fans over the past year at his "Writings On The Wall" event. He traveled to various cities around the country to host an intimate listening session that integrated fine art and cinematography with his new music. He also premiered music videos for songs like "Tree," which officially dropped last month.
For those who missed the "Writings On The Wall," you'll get your opportunity to see Chance perform songs from his new album and more at his upcoming tour. Earlier this week, Chano announced the dates for his "And We Back Tour." The tour will kick off in Houston on September 26 and will continue to other major cities around the U.S. and Canada. Chance will close out the tour in Los Angeles on October 20.
