Busta Rhymes is facing multiple assault charges after he allegedly got into a fight with his assistant.
According to a report TMZ published on Thursday, January 16, the Brooklyn native turned himself in to the New York Police Department earlier this week several days after a dispute with his assistant Dashiel Gables turned violent. The incident happened on January 10 in the lobby of Gables' condo building in downtown Brooklyn. Busta and Gables argued after the "Break Ya Neck" rapper chastised his assistant for being on the phone during work hours. Their argument eventually turned violent after Busta punched Gables in the face several times.
Gables called the cops soon after Busta Rhymes left the scene. Police and paramedics showed up at his condo and transported him to a nearby hospital to get treated for an injured eye. The seasoned rapper turned himself in four days later. Busta received a desk appearance ticket (DAT) for charges including misdemeanor assault, attempted assault, and harassment. He will have to appear in court to address his charges.
As of this report, Busta Rhymes has not addressed the allegations. He's been focused on the release of his upcoming album Dragon Season…The Awakening. The Grammy award-winning artist spent the past year dropping singles like "Do The Bustabus Pt.2" and his collaborations with Kodak Black, "Homage." He just dropped his latest single "Treasure & Gold" with YG Marley. Dragon Season…The Awakening drops this Friday.
